Have ADHD?
–
I think we all can have times where we struggle to focus or pay attention. But, ADHD can take that inability to another level.
–
The problem COULD be as simple as just a deficiency in Vitamin B6. In a study, they believed that a disorder of Vitamin B6 metabolism leads to ADHD symptoms.
–
What they concluded was “According to our data, multi-year pyridoxine treatment normalizes completely the pattern of ADHD behavior, without causing any serious side effects.”
–
So, just making sure that you are getting enough B6 in your diet on a daily basis would be a start and then you may supplement with B6 as well. Just remember that it was said that it took “multi-year” before ADHD symptoms were normalized.
–
Therefore, don’t expect upping B6 in your food or supplements will make drastic changes over a few weeks. It may take longer to see sustainable changes.
–
If you do decide to supplement, my personal recommendation is to stay under 10-15mg of B6 for long term daily consumption as higher doses over the long term can have some side effects.
